1. If the pump rotation direction is changed, the suction and discharge directions will also change. All vane pumps have a specified rotation direction and reverse rotation is not allowed. This is because the rotor's leaf grooves are inclined and the blades have chamfers. The bottom of the blades is connected to the oil discharge chamber. The throttle slots on the oil distribution plate and the suction and discharge ports are designed according to the specified rotation direction. Reversible vane pumps must be specially designed.

2. Assembly of vane pumps: The mating parts of the oil distribution plate and the stator are accurately positioned using locating pins. The blades, rotor, and oil distribution plate must not be installed in reverse. The inner surface of the stator's suction area is the most prone to wear. In necessary cases, it can be installed upside down to change the original suction area to the discharge area and continue to be used.

3. Assembly and disassembly: Pay attention to keeping the working surfaces clean. The oil should be filtered well during operation.

4. The gap between the blades and the leaf grooves is too large will increase leakage, while too small will prevent the blades from freely extending and contracting, resulting in abnormal operation.

5. The axial clearance of the vane pump has a significant impact on ηv.

1) Small pumps - 0.015 to 0.03mm

2) Medium pumps - 0.02 to 0.045mm

6. The temperature and viscosity of the oil: Generally, it should not exceed 55℃, and the viscosity should be between 17 and 37 mm2/s. If the viscosity is too high, it will be difficult to suck oil; if the viscosity is too low, leakage will be severe.
