Spillway gates are constructed of heavy-duty materials, such as steel or concrete, and are designed to withstand the high pressures and forces generated by the flow of water. Hydraulic cylinders support at the back of the panel to lift up the gate for blocking water or to drop down the gate in the case of flood discharging.
