The 3500 system now meets reliability requirements and can use the results of process failure analysis to better determine the required 3500 configuration. Various options include:

1. Standard system

2. Standard system with redundant power supply

3. TMR3500 framework with a single sensor input (TMRI/O: bus system) and a single final stage component.

4. TMR3500 framework with a single sensor input (TMRI/O: bus system) and TMR final stage components.

5. TMR3500 framework with triple sensor inputs (TMRI/O: discrete) and a single final stage component.

6. TMR3500 framework with triple sensor inputs (TMR1/O: discrete) and TMR final stage components.

To operate as a TMR system, the 3500 monitoring system must have the following modules installed:

A TMR type framework interface module

Two power sources (if one is found to be faulty, the other can automatically supply all power without interruption).

Two keyphasor modules in the same slot (if required for keyphasor signals).

Two TMR relay modules in the same slot (if required)

Three monitoring modules of the same type in adjacent slots.

2-3 communication channel modules in adjacent slots (if required for communication with peripherals).

Framework interface module

Framework interface module

The framework interface module is a full height module that can communicate with the host (a Bentley Nevada communication processor) and other modules in the framework. They maintain the system event list and alarm event list. This module can be connected to other framework interface modules and data acquisition/DDE server software in a daisy chain form. The 3500 monitoring system computer software and hardware manual explain how to connect the framework interface modules in a daisy chain form.
