Shanghai New Power Automotive Technology, formerly known as Shanghai Diesel Engine Factory, was founded in April 1947 and located on the beautiful Huangpu River. It is an undisputed technology leader in China's internal combustion engine industry. In 1993, it was restructured into a joint-stock listed company that issued A and B shares. The company independently designed and manufactured the first 6135 diesel engine in China in 1958, setting the precedent for medium bore diesel engines in China and laying the foundation for the company in the industry. The company has five major series: G128/135, C (121), D (114), P11C, and 105, with a full power coverage range of 60-600 horsepower.
