Peel Cling Tester

Stretch film testing includes a series of tests to evaluate the suitability of the material to protect a load during goods
transportation. These tests are divided into basic tests used to characterize the critical properties of the film and tests to
measure the stability of the load unit.

Testing peel cling requires preparing two different types of samples. The first sample is larger and acts as a substrate or
backing. The second piece is a smaller strip which is peeled off of the larger sample.

ASTM D5458 Standard Test Method for Peel Cling of Stretch Wrap describes a way to measure the adhesion strength between two layers of film, so as to know which of the two layers (external or internal) can adhere with greater or lesser strength.

PRINCIPLE

Peel cling testing requires two different types of samples. The first sample is larger piece as backing placed on test bed. The second piece is a smaller strip which is peeled off the larger sample.
The larger sample is wrapped fixed on the incline surface and the smaller sample is attached to a clip, connected with loadcell.It's pulled after it's clung to the large sample and the force is measured during the pulling.
We recommend the way described in ASTM D5458, which, during the test, reduces the influence of frictions in a tensile tester and pulley.
