Titanium carbonitride (TiCN) is a glossy black powder, which is a zero-dimensional ternary solid solution. TiC and TiN are the foundations of titanium carbonitride,both of which have a face-centered cubic lattice of NaCI structure,and can also be combined with TaC, NbC and all kinds of transition metal carbides solid solution.TiCN is a single TiC lattice, and the nitrogen atom (N) occupies the position of the original carbon atom (C) in the lattice to form a composite compound.

Product Application

Titanium carbonitride combines the advantages of TiC and TiN, and has a high melting point, high hardness, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistant properties, and it has the good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and thermal stability, widely used in the cutting toos,powder metallurgy and metal cermet products.
