Solid PCBN Cutting Inserts Rouging Machining High Chromium Cast Iron Sulrry Pump

1. Difficult processing of slurry pump.

(1)slurry pump body material is generally high chromium cast iron, the cast molding hardness is very high, high requirements for cutting tool wear resistance;

(2) the cast slurry pump body has a large margin, the surface may appear sand inclusion, hard point and other problems, which belongs to interrupt cutting, high impact toughness requirements on the cutting tool.

2. Solutions.

Since its establishment, Halnn has been developing high efficiency cutting tools – CBN tools for hard materials with high hardness. BN-K1 grade CBN tool is recommended for high chromium cast iron slurry pump body. The CBN tool has both abrasion resistance and impact toughness for large margin cutting and interrupt cutting slurry pump housing. And the tool life is about 10 times higher than traditional carbide tool.

3. About Halnn BN-K1.

Halnn superhard studied the BN-K1 CBN inserts for High hardness cast iron castings. It belongs to solid PCBN inserts. It’s advantage has four aspects:

(1) CBN content up to 90%, high hardness, good wear-resistance

(2) Adopt non-metal (ceramics) as binder to improve the heat resistance and collapse resistance of BN-K1 CBN inserts. It can withstand intermittent cutting

(3) cutting depth between 1-10 mm, to achieve heavy-duty cutting, improve production efficiency

(4) dry cutting, to achieve clean production, to reduce production costs.
