Mechanical instruments, is the rotational speed of the front wheels by means of a flexible wire (mileage line) by mechanical means and then displayed on the speedometer on the instrument spread out. Odometer which is the front wheel axle has a pinion gear measuring the number of turns of wheel rotation, the circumference of the tire during rotation is known, the circumference of the wheel multiplied by the number of turns by the rotation is a total mileage. Another is electronic, this table is connected to the motor via the controller inside the Hall signal lines, drawn by the motor speed by the speed of the chip, but with the speed to multiply travel time to draw mileage, electronic odometer benefit is intuitive, and can fit in straight after GPS accurately measured speed (straight road using GPS velocity error does not exceed 1%) can adjust the speed potentiometer behind the dashboard speed is adjusted accurately, so that an accurate speed outside can give accurate mileage data, mileage data error can be controlled within 2%, which is much higher than the mechanical precision of the instrument.
