Optechoffers 2.67Gbps SFP with Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) application.CWDM is the technique of combining several optical channels onto a singlefiber. CWDM systems typically provide 16 wavelengths and use the ITU standard20nm spacing from 1270nm to 1610nm. CWDM is a cost-effective solution fornetworks requiring fairly high bit rates, at minimal cost. This mainly suitsshort-haul metropolitan environments that have growing bandwidth requirementsbut do not have a substantial population to share the cost of the network.
