Dead-endtower, also named anchor tower or anchor pylon, uses horizontal straininsulators and occur at the endpoints of conductors. Such endpoints are necessarywhen interfacing with other modes of power transmission and, due to theinflexibility of the conductors, when significantly altering the direction ofthe tower line.Dead-end towersare also employed at branch points as branch pylons. A tower at which the powerline runs further as overhead line and as underground cable is a branch towerfor a cable branch.

Abranch pylon is used to start a line branch. The branch pylon is responsiblefor holding up both the main line and the start of the branch line. This makesa branch pylon also an anchor pylon since it must resist forces from bothlines.

MEGATRO is one of the few manufactures who providedead-end tower and assemble every tower section.  This attention toquality may not be the cheapest process but it does insure every tower meetsour high standards of quality.  And it helps to reduce on-siteconstruction cost due to mismatched assemblies.

After fabrication all towers are delivered tothe galvanizing facility to be Hot Dip Galvanized.  Towers are processedthrough the facility by Caustic Cleaning, Pickling, and then Fluxing. These strict procedures insure years of maintenance free towers.

Performance Standard
