Zigbee gateway provides access to TCP/IP network service for the user device with Zigbee function (such as Intelligent meter reading system etc.). It makes user devices without TCP/IP protocol proceed data communication with other network device on local area network and Internet. The Zigbee gateway can use TCP or UDP protocol and other network device communiaction.
As figure 1 shown, through Zigbee gateway, user device can communicate with local area network in PC or communicate with servicer on pure Internet access.

There are three kinds of logical device types in Zigbee network: telegon (centre node), router and terminal node. One zigbee network can include a telegon, several router nodes and several terminal nodes. This product can be set as different device types through parameter configuration.

1.Telegon (black)
As the first device of zigbee network, the telegon is the constructor of network. The telegon scan the exist network of RF environment and also select one channel and network ID to start network.
The telegon can be used on the optimizing of network, safety setting and the binding of application layer.
The main function of telegon is to build and configure network. Once the process is completed, the function of telegon is the same as route node (even can remove it from network). The remaining network operation will not depend on the current telegon.

1.Router (red)
The router node have three functions: making other devices enter into network, making multi-level route network and help the communication of their terminal sub-node.

1.Terminal node (white)
The terminal node do not take charge of maintain zigbee network. Therefore, it can sleep or wake up and the power consumption is quite lower.
