Turgo turbine generator unit primarily applies to water head 20-100 m. It is installed easily for use pipe installation. Mainly two types: horizontal and vertical, horizontal has a simple structure, easy maintenance and lower plant height, reducing the advantages of excavation depth. Vertical units with a plant area of small size, multiple nozzles can be installed on a wheel, high speed, same-unit sizes are relatively small, light weight and so on.

The turgo turbine is a kind of impulse turbine and suitable for heads from 20m-400m .

An angle of 22.5°is formed between the center line of the nozzle jet and the rotational plane of the runner.

The water from the penstock is transformed into a high speed jet through the nozzle.

The water is directed obliquely to one side of the runner and discharges at the other side. And the dynamic force of water flow makes the runner rotate rapidly.
