 The benefit of the Power Rope training is essentially twofold; it provides a gruelling cardiovascular workout while training both grip strength and shoulder endurance at the same time. As far as cardio goes, its application is quite lateral. Many people, ranging from athletes to the average punter, struggle with doing a lot of running. Power Ropes allow those people to achieve great results without the pounding and stress of running long distances. The extra benefit of working with ropes is that they require a coordinated physical effort emanating from the core; you have to revert to using your core as the prime mover to keep the ropes going.

An added value of ropes is that they don’t require a high level of skill to use; minimal instruction and practise is all you need to get started. They are also easy to store and are mechanically simple, which makes them easy to maintain. The  Power Ropes are ideal for boot camps and outdoor applications.

 Which diameter Battle Rope should I choose?

• Our standard diameters are 1.5 inch(38mm) and 2 inch(50mm).

• For most people, the 1.5”(38mm) version is a good starting choice. This allows the average hand size to get a secure grip and a full range of motion. It is also plenty heavy! This is an excellent option for gyms where individuals of various sizes and fitness levels will be using the same ropes.

• More advanced fitness enthusiasts may prefer the heavier weight and greater challenge of the 2 inch(50mm) version. It can be a good strategy to start out with the 1.5” diameter, and then move up to the 2” (50mm) diameter after a few months. Then, alternating between the two with varying exercises is a great way to continue building strength and endurance.

Which length Battle Rope should I choose?

• Our standard lengths are 10m,12m,15m,but we can also custom make any length you desire.

• Our most popular length is the 15m rope. This makes for a nice 8m length when wrapped around a pole or anchor, which can be used solo or with a partner. This 8m length is a good size for most people to be able to move the rope enough to get a challenging cardio and endurance workout.

• You can always purchase a longer rope and put in some knots to make it shorter until your strength increases. This also makes it easy to share one size rope between individuals with differing fitness levels or goals.

What do you know about the power ropes ??      

                First off, if you are unsure what heavy ropes are, let me give you the Coles notes version. 

They are long pieces of heavy, thick rope that you loop around a sturdy object. Holding onto each 

end, you then proceed to shake them up and down to produce wave like motions with the 

ropes. 

            Using the ropes is challenging, and as a stand-alone workout tool they will improve your 

overall strength and endurance. However, combine them with a circuit-type workout using 

kettlebells, dumbbells and a TRX, and you have a recipe for a hard-core body!

            When you first start working with the ropes, you will be amazed at how much they recruit 

your core, while also demanding a lot of work from the muscles of the arms, back, shoulders and legs. In fact, heavy rope training is functional training at it’s best and something that we all could use 

a little more of.

Two Rope Exercises You Must Master

1. Battling-Rope Waves
This is the classic battling-rope exercise. "It works each arm independently and keeps your muscles under tension for extended periods,"  says John Brookfield,creator of the original battling~ropes system. 

Directions: Hold the ends of the rope at arm's length in front of your hips with your hands shoulder~width apart. Brace your core and begin alternately raising and lowering each arm explosively. Keep alternating arms for 1 to 20 minutes.

2. Battling-Rope Crossovers
Instead of making waves, slam the rope to the ground. "You'll build more power and hammer your core," says John Brookfield,creator of the original battling-ropes system.

Directions: Keep both feet flat on the floor as you move the ends in an arc above your head, lifting them to your left and slamming them down hard to your right. Repeat in the opposite direction. Continue alternating for 1 to 20 minutes.
