We use iodide, Chlorideor liquid Chlorine for swimming pool treatment for a long time. 

Till the development of ozone technology in 20th century, ozone entersthe field of water treatment, show its superiority.

Butthere are still some problems in operation:

1.   Because thinking about the costof ozone generator & mixing reaction tower, many users do not choose it.

2.   It is few kind of Gas-liquidmixing device, and low mixing efficiency, about 40-70% ozone can not be mixedin water. So for better efficiency, the suppliers should increase ozone outputwhich will increase the cost.

3.   Hard to ensure the quality ofmixing device, reaction tower and other components if buy them separately.

Now we use UV & Ozone together for improvingozone dissolution ratio, and complementing the sterilization.

1.    Theory evidence of OzoneUV system:

Scientists have discovered that added UV in ozone disinfectionsystem can stimulate activity of ozone, and catalyze ozone & watermolecules to create plenty of hydroxyl radical (OH). OH is active materialwhich was produced by reaction of ozone with water.

The oxidizing ability of OH is 100 times higher than hypochlorite(OCI).

The sterilization ability of OH is 3000 times higher than hypochlorite(OCI).

The sterilization ability with UV & Ozone is 1-2 times higherthan use ozone individual.

2.    UV-O3 Disinfection systemused for pool water

    UV-O3 system has the strongestability of sterilization and inactivated virus, effectively prevent the spreadof infectious diseases. Experiment proof that inactivation of fecal Escherichiacoli requires only 5 seconds, if want to achieve the same affection with thesame concentration of chlorine required 15,000 seconds. Some of the pathogenicbacteria are resistant to chlorine, such as virus, Amoebae, Cysts etc. But allcan be killed by OH.

     UV-O3 system has strongoxidizing ability. It can prevent the special odor compounds accumulated,including chlorinated organic what is reacted by Chlorine with excretion, forexample, mono chloro amine, dichloramine, trichloramine, THM, chloriduria etc.Most of them are precursors of THM. But ozone can prevent the generation ofprecursors, to supply clear water, fresh air for swimmer, without stimulationto their eyelids and nose strip.

   UV-O3 system also can help sandfiltration to removal of metallic salts and organics. Because the organics willeasily become multi-polar compounds during oxidation process, and cancombine with a number of multivalent metallic cations (eg. Ca, Mg, Fe, Al etc)into the complex compounds, then become micro-flocculate were removed by sandfiltration last.
