Mounting

-Pump should be install in the deepest section of the bilge.

-To determine mounting base orientation place pump with hose attached in the deepest section of bilge and route hose in a manner which eliminates sharp bends and kinks.

-Remove strainer base form pump housing by depressing lock tabs.

Electrical

-Important Lead wires should not be shortened&wiring connections must be clear of the bilge and long pigtails are designed to assure dry connections.

-After connections are crimped they should be coated with sealant.

-Positive pump wire will be labeled and will connect to the positive(+)side of batery negative pump wire connects to the negative(-)side of battery.

-Install the switch and fuse in the positive(+)wire.

-Install the recommended size fuse of breaker between the pump and switch.

-Proper wiring polarity is critical(Positive lead to positive terminal and negative lead to negative termina) 

Improper polarity will cause the pump to run backward not run or damage the motor and will void the warranty.

How a bilge pump works

Non-automatic bilge pumps offer traditional operation activated by a float or panel switch. Removal of the motor cartridge allows for easy cleaning of the strainer and impeller in the event that the pump becomes clogged with debris. Electric Submersible Pumps are by far the most popular type of electric Bilge Pumps, submersibles give very high outputs, and cost effective, have low amp draw and are easy to install. They are designed to fit in the lowest part of the bilge and only require discharge pipe work and electricity supply. Also can be used in other applications like transfer river water, work together with solar panel or battery.
