The Merit Brass stainless steel 316/316L plate IPS (iron pipe size) slip-on flange is a class 150 pipe fitting used to join two sections of a piping system. This slip-on flange has bolt holes to connect to flat surfaces or other flanges and can be used instead of weld neck flanges to reduce cost or conserve space. This plate flange is 1/2” thick and is best used in areas free from severe vibration and toxic substances. Made of stainless steel 316L, the lower carbon content of this flange ensures corrosion resistance. The class 150 fitting meets steel 316 strength standards, 316L extra-low carbon standards, and ASTM A182 and ASME SA182 standards for quality assurance. Class is a standard relating to tolerance, construction, dimension, and wall thickness, but it is not a direct measurement of maximum working pressure.
