Our Tricalcium Citrate is often used because of its very high calcium content (min. 21.0%) and high bioavailability. Compared to calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate, Tricalcium Citrate is well resorbed. Tricalcium Citrate is mainly used as a calcium source in foodstuff, beverages, dairy products, dietary foods as well as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Calcium Citrate is an intermediate in the isolation of citric acid from the fermentation process by which citric acid is produced industrially. The citric acid in the broth solution is neutralized by a calcium source - calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate - precipitating insoluble calcium citrate.
