 Q1:  Does it kill insect eggs?

A: No. Insect eggs provide a protective layer that prevents DE from being able to dehydrate the insect inside. Because of this, you may need to keep up with your DE applications for a couple of weeks to break the lifecycle of some insects.

Q2: What pests does DE work on?
A: Diatomaceous earth is an effective pesticide against anything with an exoskeleton. This includes every bug you can think of from the smallest bedbug to the largest scorpion. It is not effective on mice or other rodents, as they have the same protection to DE that we do: skin.

Q3: How does DE kill bugs?
A: DE is harmful to insects because of its mechanical makeup. It contains no toxins of any kind. On the microscopic level, it is coarse and porous, making it highly absorbent. It sticks to insects and wicks valuable moisture away from their exoskeletons, fatally dehydrating them.
