Shaanxi Aikon Seabuckthorn Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Shaanxi Seabuckthorn Oil Refinery (directly under Water Resources Department of Shaanxi Province) and a foreign-funded enterprise, is the earliest and largest manufacturer of seabuckthorn products, and the only pharmaceutical company engaged in the production of seabuckthorn in China.

The Company is equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies and equipment as well as complete sets of test and control measures. Currently, it has fixed assets of more than RMB 20 million, 4 production lines (supercritical CO2 extraction, oral liquid, soft gelatin capsules and etc.) and over 100,000 tons of seabuckthorn annually from its production base. • Product description

The seed has fatty acids, such as palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid. Non-saponified substances include zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin, alpha-, gamma-, and δ-carotenes, sitosterol, β-sitosterol can-of β -D-glucoside, and phosphatide. The peel has serotonin and glucofrangulin. The leaf has ascorbic acid, dehydroascorbic acid, isorhamnetin, and carotene. The root bark has alkaloids, and the root nodule contains hemin.

• Pharmacological Effect:

It's fruit and oil have a high medicinal value. For example, they can lower cholesterol, relieve angina pectoris, as well as prevent and treat coronary atherosclerotic heart disease; treat chronic bronchitis and be expectorant, anti-cough and anti-asthma; treat gastric and duodenal ulcers and indigestion and are significantly effective in treating chronic superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis, colitis and etc. and have a good therapeutic effect against various burns, scalds and frostbite, as well as cervical erosion.

The fruit contains 7 flavonoids, e.g. isorhamnetin and its glycoside, quercetin, kaempferol and so forth with relevant effects in treating cough, asthma. It is, expectorant, dilating coronary vessels, reducing cholesterol, and is commonly used in the treatment of ischemic heart disease with the effective rate of 94% for angina pectoris.
