• Dioscorea root contains diosgenin, which has anti-fatigue, anti-inflammatory, anti-stress, hypocholesterolemic, and estrogenic effects. Dioscorea is antispasmodic, and could be helpful for nausea of pregnant women(morning sickness), spasmodic hiccough and asthma. Most women experience lack of progesterone, not estrogen.
