1. GENERAL PRODUCT CONDITION

1.1Allergen Notice

Where a recognised allergen is known to be present in the product this shall be declared within the ingredients listing. Recognised allergens involve pulses (peanuts), tree nuts, shellfish, crustacea, milk, eggs, sesame seeds, soy, fish, sulphites, monosodium glutamate, wheat, celery, mustard and certain antioxidants (BHA, BHT). This product does not contain any of these and the ingredients listing shall represent the sole ingredients of the product.

1.2 Shelf Life and Storage Conditions

The total shelf life of the product, from the date of manufacture, shall not exceed  2.25 years at ambient temperature and the product shall be marked with the appropriate best before date in the manner specified.

1.3 Quantity Ingredient Declaration

For QUID purposes a drained weight value specified below shall be declared on the label in close proximity to the net weight declaration

1.4 Intended Use

After opening the product is suitable for consumption direct from the can, or may be stored in a refrigerator, in a non-metallic container, for up to 3 days

The number of individual strawberries should be: 15 – 30.

Where size is concerned, the ratio of the 3 smallest to the 3 largest berries shall not exceed 1: 2.5 by weight. No single strawberry shall weigh less than 4g.

2.2 Ingredients Statement

Ingredients: Strawberries, Water, Sugar, Colour (Anthocyanins), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid).

2.3 Genetically Modified Materials

All materials used to produce this product shall consist exclusively of non-genetically modified product. This is to include initial materials and all derivatives.

2.4 Irradiation

No component of this product shall be subject to any form of ionising radiation treatment.

2.5 Commodity Description

Strawberries

The Strawberries used for the manufacture of this product shall be ripened, suitably matured, sound, wholesome fruit of the Frageria y ananassa species.

The fruit may be treated during the growing season to control insect and fungal attack. Such treatments shall not allow pesticide residuals in the final packed product to exceed the current recognised EU limits.

Colours

The use of Anthocyanins shall be controlled to ensure the stipulated limit is not exceeded. Alternative natural colours e.g. elderberry juice, may be used only with the express written permission of Princes Limited. The use of such colours shall be reflected in the label ingredients statement.
