Excess body fat, localized adiposity, and cellulite represent important social problems. To date, techniques using radiofrequencies, cavitation and noncavitation ultrasound, and carbon dioxide have been studied as treatments for noninvasive body contouring. Ice-Shock Lipolysis is a new noninvasive procedure for reducing subcutaneous fat volume and fibrous cellulite in areas that normally would be treated by liposuction. Introduction:

With the rising demand for fat reduction, multiple noninvasive technologies have grown dramatically over the past decade among patients who want to avoid the surgical risks from liposuction.Multiple treatment modalities, including bipolar radiofrequency with infrared heat and pulsatile suction,multipolar radiofrequency, laser, and ultrasound devices,have been employed with variable results.Only some of these procedures have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for selective fat reduction.
