What is IPL?
IPL or “Intense Pulsed Light” is the use of intense pulses of non-coherent light just below the skins surface (unlike laser which is a coherent light). It is a technology where light is converted into heat energy and treats certain skin conditions without disruption to the skin’s surface.

What can IPL do for me?
IPL can provide permanent hair reduction after just a few treatments. IPL also treats skin conditions through “Photo Rejuvenation Treatments”. Photo rejuvenation treatments target the following skin conditions: rosacea, redness, acne and hyperpigmentation.

Who is IPL best for?
Clients with light skin and dark hair respond the best to IPL. During the initial consultation we will decide whether or not this is the most effective treatment for the client’s specific skin type.

How often will I need treatments?
Depending on your specific needs, treatments are done approximately every 2-4 weeks. This is determined during the initial consultation. Throughout the course of your treatments we will continue to determine if more treatments are required. Clients may need “touch up’s” after the initial series. Some reasons for this are: hormonal shifts, sun exposure, acne breakouts or due to the influence of stress, illness, disease and prescription changes.

How does it feel?
The most common sensation is a light snap or warming under the skin. Each individual has a different tolerance to the IPL treatments. Variance in sensation may even occur from one area of the body to another.

This is not an exfoliating treatment and is non- invasive so little to no down time is typical for most clients. We will give our recommendation for post care products and will require you to wear sunscreen. Home care is just as important as the treatment itself.

How long before I see results?
Each individual is has different results depending on which treatment they receive and severity of damage where the skin needs to be corrected. Some clients see rapid results and some clients will experience a slower change. We HIGHLY recommend a series of treatments due to variances in hair growth, skin damage and skin type.
