Below is the full details of GD series rotary disc crusher--Model: GD240
GD series rotary disc crusher is specially used to produce fine material. It differs from cone crusher. General cone crusher adopts “single-layer crushing” that directly extrudes the materials with crushing components. However, the rotary disc crusher adopts “layer-to-layer crushing” principle, which converts the extrusion and impact of the components on the materials to the comprehensive effect of mutual impact and grinding between the multiple-layer material granules to realize the material crushing.

Before invention of rotary disc crusher, people use rod mill, impact crusher or roller type crusher to produce artificial sand. Compared with rotary disc crusher, the disadvantages of these crushing methods are as follows:
| Rod mill | Rod mill can produce fine size product but its high power consumption, high wear of steel rod and lining plate make production cost relatively higher; Also, the quantity of extra fine products and flake shape products is too big and the sand quality is bad. |
| Impact crusher | When impact crusher crushes corrosive materials, the blow plate and counter-blow plate wear very quickly. The operating rate of the machine is low while the production cost is high. On the other hand, it produces too many extra fine products. Most sand using standards for construction or highway require that the content of extra fine material of sieve hole smaller than No.100 is not allowed to exceed 2-10%. Therefore, too many extra fine products must be removed. |
| Roller crusher | Roller crusher is difficult to be used in producing undersize products of No.30 ,No.50 and No.100 screen because of: a)low output ;b)it is difficult to control product size due to the wear of roller shin; c)much circulating load. |
