IEC International Standard Transformer NOMEX Paper Covered Flat Aluminium Wire

1.Introduction: NOMEX paper wrapped wire is extruded or drawn from oxygen-free copper rod or electrical round aluminum rod with certain specification mould and then wrapped with US Du Pont Company’s NOMEX paper of Type T410. It is widely applied in transformers, electric welding machines and other similar electrical instruments. Then electrical bare copper or aluminum wire with extrusion process is the ideal material for NOMEX paper wrapped wire.

3.Material:

Aluminum rectangular wire should conform to GB5584.3-2009, the resistivity (20℃) is no more than 0.0280Ωmm²/m

Copper rectangular wire should conform to GB5584.2-2009, the resistivity (20℃) is no more than 0.01724Ωmm²/m

4.Technical requirements of NOMEX paper wrapped wire(Enterprise Standard)

Thickness of US Du Pont Company’s NOMEX paper of Type T410 is 2mil

5.Advantage of NOMEX Paper Wrapped Wire

NOMEX paper’s electrical, chemical and mechanical properties are extremely high, and it’s elasticity, flexibility, anti-tearing, moisture resistance and resistance to wear are very good. Moreover it has the acid and alkali corrosion. And it is not easily destroyed by insects, fungus as well as streptomyces. It has the compatibility with all kinds of varnish, adhesive, transformer liquid, lubricant, and coolant. Meanwhile, NOMEX paper has strong thermal resistance. Even if the temperature reaches 220℃, the insulation property is the same. Transformer with NOMEX paper wrapper wire can bring client a lot of economic, environmental and safe benefits.

6.Lower Cost, smaller Size, Lighter Weight

The temperature of transformer with NOMEX insulation can rise up to 180℃. Because the transformer needs fewer wires and ferrite cores and then it has smaller size and lighter weight, thus capital construction can be reduced. It is easy to install the transformer. Smaller ferrite core means reducing no-load loss.

7.Reliability Improvement

With NOMEX paper wrapped wire, the electrical specification and the mechanical property are outstanding in the transformer’s entire service life. NOMEX paper and there is no crack. NOMEX insulation paper is not sensitive to temperature, dust and thus improve the reliability of transformer.

8.Increase of Reserve Capacity

NOMEX paper’s thermal resistance is high, so even though the temperature reaches 220℃, the insulation property maintains the same. Rank C of 220℃ takes the place of Rank of 180℃during the design of transformer, so it may deal with the urgent load situation and the dilatancy unexpectedly and can make backup plan.
