314: CCTV Camera Tester

The CCTV Tester offers technicians a wide range of features to simplify CCTV camera installations. Power, focus and aim your cameras locally without a trip back to the control room. The unit´s bright screen and easy to use menu are ideal for outdoor use. A lanyard and a hand strap are included to ease installs in locations. The device allows the installer to control PTZ cameras that accept data over RS232, RS422 simplex or RS485 ports. The Address Search feature can be used to run a search and determine a PTZ unit´s address. The UTP cable test feature checks for connectivity across all 8 wires and also displays the pin-to-pin connections of the RJ45 connectors. 

The unit includes a rechargeable Lithium Ion Polymer battery that charges for 4 hours and can last up to 11 hours in the field. An auxiliary 12VDC, 1A power supply can be used to locally power and adjust cameras in the field or on a test bench. The RS485 data capture feature displays the code output of serial control devices.  And it Supports more than twenty PTZ protocols. For example, Pelco-P, Pelco-D, Samsung, Panasonic, CBC, Bosch, TeleEye, Vicon, Sanyo-SSP etc.

Other functions include PoE voltage testing, PoE port flicker, PoE link monitoring, ipcamera´ping testing, ip address scan, video images could be zoomed in 1-10 times, support video snapshot, video recording and playback, screenshot, support Micro SD card for storage, built in 4G SD card. NTSC/PAL auto-selecting, video signal measurement, preset setting, night Led, user-defined shortcut keys, etc.

This CCTV test monitor that also has network IP camera functions such as a network scanner, Ethernet / POE tester, IP address tester and audio surveillance tester. This test monitor can power a DC camera using the 12V-DC 1 Amp power output allowing the installer to mount, focus and test the CCTV camera before running any cable (Only works with 12V-DC cameras rated up to 1 Amp).

When installing IP cameras, this monitor can be used to identify the IP address of the cable run and test if the cable is supplying POE (Power over Ethernet). This monitor is designed to only test the cable and does not display the video stream of the IP camera. However, we do have this 7" tester that DOES display video from IP cameras.The 3.5" LCD screen and provides a crisp, clear image. The brightness, contrast and saturation are fully adjustable. Installers can test communication with PTZ cameras using the built in pan tilt zoom controls. It supports more than 30 PTZ protocols, making it compatible with most PTZ cameras used today. The MON-IPZ3 charges in 4 ~ 5 hours and can last up to 11 hours with normal use. The auto detect feature of the monitor automatically determines whether the camera is PAL or NTSC when connected. The MON-IPZ3 includes a neck strap, RS-485 cables, rechargeable battery, charging cable, BNC cable, cable test box and a carry case to hold everything.

This is the top of the MON-IPZ3. Here is a breif description of the functions that these connections support.

BNC Video In: Used to test video from analog CCTV cameras by displaying video on the monitor. Accepts NTSC and PAL cameras.

BNC Video / Cable Scan: Loop outputs video when a camera is connected to the BNC in. Also can be used with a tone generator (not included) to perform a cable scan.

12V DC Output: Used to power 12V DC cameras during installation.

RS-232: Data monitor tests for RS-232

RS-485: Used to control PTZ cameras and perform PTZ address search. Data monitor testing for RS-485

UTP Cable Tester, Micro SD Card, UTP Scan

The right side of the MON-IPZ3 has the following ports. 

Micro SD: 4GB SD card is included. The tester is able to capture still photos and videos for testing.

USB: Charger input.

UTP / Scan: UTP cable tester so that installers can verify that CAT-5 and CAT-6 Ethernet cables are working properly. Testing your Ethernet cable runs with a professional cable tester can save hours of troubleshooting. The RJ-45 UTP cable jack can be seen on the right side of the test monitor. In addition, this side of this tool displays the Micro SD card slot for recording and mini USB port.

Audio In, LAN, PSE In

LAN: RJ-45 LAN input can be used to perform network IP scans, PING tests, Ethernet and Phone cable tests.

PSE In: used to perform port flicker tests and PoE power tests.

Audio In: used to test audio surveillance microphones.

Test Monitor with Camera Power Output

One of the unique features of the MON-IPZ3 test monitor is that it has a 12V DC 1 Amp power output that can be used to supply power to the CCTV camera that is being tested. Please note that this tester can only supply power to 12V DC cameras that are rated up to 1 Amp.
