1. Description

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that clarifies wastewater through the removal of suspended matter such as oil ,greases, or solids. Removal is achieved by injecting pressurized air into the wastewater where micro-bubbles then inter act with the suspended solid particles. This inter action causes these particles to float to the surface of the DAF where they are then scraped and separated.

2. DAF working principles

The feed water to air flotation tank of tank is dosed with a coagulant (such as PAC,PAM) to coagulate the colloidal particles and/or flocculants to conglomerate the particles into bigger clusters. 

A portion of clarified effluent water leaving the DAF tank is pumped into dissolved air tank which compressed air is also introduced. This process saturates pressurized effluent water with air under pressure. 

3. Application

(1) Remove oil and SS.

(2) Separate small particles and algae in groundwater. 

(3) Recover valuable products in industrial sewage such as paper pulp.

(4) For some industrial wastewater treatment such as slaughter house, printing textile,and dyeing.
