• SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) modifies the asphalt by forming a polymer network within the bitumen. SBS gives the bitumen rubber-like characteristics and improved resistance to aging and weathering. Most SBS modified bitumen sheets are either set in hot mopping asphalt, torch-applied, or adhered with cold-process adhesives. SBS modified bitumen sheets that do not have factory applied granule or foil surfacing need some form of field-applied ultraviolet protective coating.

• SBS Membranes are widely used in the basement for their superior quality and self healing property. It is comparatively expensive membrane compared to APP membrane. These products consist of blend of distilled bitumen modified with SBS elastomeric thermoplastic polymers and selected fillers.

Storage

The material should be stored in well-ventilated place and avoid being exposed to the sun or rain. The temperature in stored places can not be higher than 45° C. It should be put vertically not more than in two levels.

Transportation
In order to prevent inclination or lateral drift, the material can not be put vertically in double-level.
 
Surface Preparation
Surfaces should be dry, clean, smooth and free from any dusts, oil or loose particles. Cracks and uneven places need to be filled by polymer mortar.
 
Priming
Before membrane laying, substrate treating agent need to be brushed evenly and completely cover all laying places.
 
Membrane laying
After substrate treating agent drying, lay the material according to application designs.
