1.2379/D2 CLICKING DIE STEEL
1.2379/D2 DIE STEEL is an air hardening (cold work) tool steel that is high in carbon and chromium.
1.2379/D2 DIE STEEL offers excellent resistant to wear and abrasion and is used in long-run application when resistance to wear is required. D2 is machinable in the annealed condition. D2 shows minimal distortion during heat treatment.
1.2379/D2 DIE STEEL has a machinability rating of 35% to 40% of a 1% carbon tool steel.
1.2379/D2 DIE STEEL is sold in the annealed condition. Typical annealed hardness is BHN 217/229 Rc 17/18.
1.2379/D2 DIE STEEL maximum working hardness is BHN 710 Rc 63.
1.2379/D2 DIE STEEL is capable of meeting ASTM-A681.
