EN8/SAE1040 steel square or round bars

EN8 is an unalloyed medium carbon steel with good tensile strength. It is usually supplied in cold-drawn or hot-rolled condition. The steel we supply is 40B (GB) which is similar to EN8, AISI1040, S40C, C40, but it is a kind of alloy steel which contains B. We can produce round, square, flat, hexagon steel bars according to your requirements.

Hardening:
Heat uniformly to 860°C until heated through. Quench in oil or water. Can also be induction or flame hardened.

Tempering:
Heat uniformly and thoroughly at the selected tempering temperatures, 600°C.

Normalising:
Normalise at 830-860°C, and cool in air.

16mm-60mm for cold-drawn steel bars
