Martensitic stainless steel sheets AISI 420 / SUS420J1 / SUS420J2
Martensitic stainless steel
Martensitic stainless steels are high carbon-chromium steels.
They have been developed for ready processing and a range of applications after cold rolling.
Our product range includes steels with improved corrosion resistance.
Typical applications of our martensitic stainless steels include:
razor blades
surgical knives
scissors
cutlery
pressure diaphragms
valve components
bacon slicers
circlips
Careful control of steel chemistry ensures that our martensitic stainless steels can be readily processed after annealing
and descaling. These processes include hot forming/forging, cold rolling, stamping/blanking, heat treatment, grinding
and polishing. Our high carbon razor grades can be hardened and tempered to approximately 700 Hv30
(depending upon austenitising temperature, tempering temperature and quenching medium).
