Organic bentonite:HY-708A

HY-708A is a kind of traditional highly purified organic bentonite, which is modified from quaternary salt. It is a kind of excellent anti-setting and thixotropic agent in solvent systems. It iswidely used in oil-drilling and oil based mud solution, and low to medium polar solvents paints and ink etcs.

Use  method

HY-708A, it is better to be used as pre-gel.It should be added before grinding your products(such as paints,pigments,coatings etc.).To get the best dispersion effect,it is best to use high-shearing device.HY-708A needs polar activator to fullydisperse.The available polar activators are as following: propylene carbonate, methanol/water(95/5).ethanol/water(95/5) or acetone. The proper amount of polar activator can be adjusted according to different systems.Generally the amount of polar activator is 30~50% of organic bentonite.

The amount of HY-708A is usually 0.2~3.0% of the system(by weight).

The application of organic bentonite in drilling mud

In emusified oil base drilling mud, inverse emulsion oil base drilling mud, oil base drilling mud and oil base mud formulation solution, when the solvent is diesel based, select HY-708A and HY-738B organic bentonite, when the solvent is mineral oil based, the best choice is HY-708A organic bentonite, it can make the mud suspended, articles layer well, wall and anti-filtration effect, when the medium pressure and temperature at 10^8 PA and 230 ℃. it could still maintain the stability of chemical and physical.
