Basalt FiberIntroduction

Basalt fiber is a new high-performance environmentally friendly green inorganic fiber material, which is made of basalt ore in 1500C high temperature melting and wire drawing. Basalt fiber is with high strength, electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, and high temperature resistant, it can be mixed with cement concrete and asphalt with strong crack resistance, enhanced toughening effect.

1. High temperature resistance, low temperature resistance(-269~650℃)

Mixing with the hot asphalt, the asphalt material performance will not change, and not bring chemical or dissolution reaction with asphalt, it can effectively change the asphalt cold hardening, softening temperature condition.

2. Superior water erosion performance, low water absorption, moisture absorption <0.1%, and the absorption capacity does not change with time

3.elastic modulus(93~110GPa)

4.High Tensile Strenght, tensile strength is 2 to 2.5 times than metal, and keep stable at 100 ~ 250 C

5.High Sound Absorption Coefficient,(0.9~0.99), low thermal conductivity(0.03~0.038w/m.^. K)

6. stable Chemical stability, wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, excellent anti-aging properties

7. good surface affinity with cement concrete, asphalt or concrete, good dispersion, strong adhesion, same coefficient of thermal expansion and contraction,  basalt fiber is wire drawing from natural volcanic rock directly.

Application

After basalt fiber mixing with cement concrete and mortar, it is with volume stability, good workability, durability, reinforced with superior toughness, crack resistance, impact resistance, to extend the life of the role architecture, can be widely used in national defense field engineering and traffic infrastructure, petrochemical, fire fighting, environmental protection, automobile, shipbuilding and other fields, also can be applied in the field of construction of houses, bridges, highways, high-speed railways, urban elevated highways, runways, seaport terminals, subway tunnels.

Dosage

Basalt fiber original wire short cut length should be close to the maximum particle size of the concrete, and no less than 15mm, no more than 30mm, which is recommended dosage 2-4kg / m3, 

basalt fiber original wire gum dipping general application length is 6mm-50mm, 

mainly used in place of steel fiber, which is recommended 4-8 kg / m3, 

this two kinds of fibers having a same modulus of elasticity and nature, which can be used in combination to improve the overall performance of concrete.
