 The Air Way Clearance Systems uses a technoloy called Hight Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO), the Carevest has an inflatable garment connected by a pair of Air Hoses to an Air Pulse Generator.

During therapy, the inflates and deflates rapidly, applying gentle pressure to the chest wall.

This works a loosen and thin mucus and move it smaller airways toward the larger airways, where it can be cleared by coughing and suctioning.
