LECA(Lightweight expanded clay aggregate) or also knowns as pH balanced expanded clay. These expanded 

shell pellets form a porous growing medium averaging 8-16 mm in diameter. Perfect for use with 

aeroponic and hydroponic gardens, including ebb and flow tables and systems that use grow cups to 

support plants. It is also use as decoratives for pot plants.

LECA is a wonderful and ideal replacement of conventional soil for garden plant and follower growth.

Due to thousands of cavities, LECA can deep more water and nutrition than the conventional soil and has better 

air permeability and water discharge. So, we only need to recharge water and nutrition one or twice a month for 

plants and followers 

LECA keeps away from the pollution of conventional soil and is impervious to attack by wet rot and insects. So 

it makes it easy to manage the plants and followers. 

LECA is a super lightweight particle and let us easy to carry and move the plant and follower containers here 

and there. 

To prevent any pollution by insects or bacteria, we can clean the LECA by water than boil the LECA one or 

twice a year in case we do not want to buy new LECA for replacement.

drainage as well as moisture retention. Use it as a decorative mulch for potted plants, in ground plants, as an
add mix to containers, and as a bottom layer for drainage. It is also widely used in hydroponic growing and is

 pH neutral. The pores in the stones store water and release water when required therefore providing an 

excellent environment for root development. Ideal for roses, orchids and all types of fruits and vegetables

 growth because of its neutral properties - Garden clay pebble has no acid or alkaline characteristics. 

What makes it good for hydroponics?

The properties of LECA are highly attractive to hydroponic gardeners; it is inert, can be used multiple times 

and is also pH neutral. As it is made up of hard, porous pellets it also enhances the levels of oxygen the plants

 are exposed to and drains well in hydroponics systems.

LECA also provides a number of distinct benefits:

• It helps to conserve water and is ideal for hydroponics systems due to the fact that it drains quickly.

• The main disadvantage is that LECA doesn’t hold moisture as well as more absorbent mediums, such as coco-coir, although this can be combated by combining it with other mediums  .
