Stainless steel Multi-Media Filter for water treatment

Multi-media filter, also called pressure type filter, is a main part of water purifying system. The raw water is pressurized to flow through one or several kinds of filter media to reduce the turbidity and to remove the colloidal particles, micro-organism, suspended solid, organism, chlorine odor, and some heavy metal molecular, so as to achieve the purpose of purification which is one of the traditional water treatment methods. The filter media include: anthracite, multi-porous ceramic, quartz sand, manganese sand etc., which can be applied according to actual situation.

Multi-media filters are widely applied to water treatment processes such as: water turbidity reduction for feeding water, pretreatment of reverse osmosis and ion exchange, as well as sand removal of surface water and groundwater. If the turbidity of inlet water is less than 20NTU, the turbidity of outlet water can be below 3NTU.It also can be used as coarse filter equipment for lower requirement industrial water. The materials of tank are: stainless steel, A3 steel lined with rubber, FRP.

Description of multi-media filter

 Removing suspended solids smaller than 40 microns requires filters with either two or three layers of filter media. These are referred to as dual-media filters or multi-media filter. When sized properly and with the correct configuration of filter media, these filters can remove suspended solids as small as 5 micron.

The most commonly used filter media is anthracite, multi-porous ceramic, quartz sand, manganese sand etc..

Raw water is pressurized through filter media to reduce turbidity and to remove colloidal particles, micro-organism, suspended solid, organism, chlorine odor, heavy metal etc.. 

Function

The media of multi-media filter is sand and anthracite, which is used to filter SS mechanical impurities organic and etc. to improve the transparency of water. The media of carbon filter is carbon ,which is used to through absorption to removal pigmentorganicchlorinecolloid and microorganism. mensha filer is used mensha to removal Fe+2 in water.
