Applications of spiral chute :
It has been used in to enrichment the particle size 0.3-0.02 millimeters fine grain like iron, tin, chromite, ilmenite, tungsten, zinc, tantalum-niobium, gold, coal , monazite, rutile, zircon and other low-grade ores. The non-metallic minerals which have a big enough specific gravity difference.

Working Principle

 1. The circumfluent generated for transverse section: When the liquid move and change its moving direction frequently, so that it becomes centrifugal force on the transverse section, the centrifugal force makes the liquid flow formed a slope from transverse outer edge to inner edge. In the integrative functional consequence of both transverse centrifugal force and transverse liquid slope, on the surface of transverse section, the liquid particles of the upper water flow move to the outer edge because of the transverse resultant force, and the liquid particles of the lower layer move to the inner edge because of the transverse liquid slope, the transverse speed of the middle liquid flow is zero. The sequence of water flow movement formed spiral transverse circumfluent. The water layer of inner edge is thin, flow rate is small, on the contrary, the water layer of outer edge is thick and flow rate is big. Moreover, the transverse dip angle has reinforcement to the circumfluent.

2. The separation process of the ore grain in the spiral chute: the separation process dispatched into 3 sections. 1st, is the particles layering. When the particles move, heavy particles subsided down to the under layer with fast speed, light particles subsided with slow speed, floating on the upper layer, the vertical stirring of liquid flow intensify the ore grain layered by its density. During this section the light particles move to outer edge with combined effect of the transverse water flow outward force and centrifugal force. Transverse water flow inward force, overcome the centrifugal force and frictional resistance in bottom make the heavy particles move to the inner edge. 

Follow on into the 2nd section, the heavy and light particles spread by transverse direction based on the first section, the centrifugal force of the under heavy particles is small, the heavy particles move little by little to inner edge along the spiral line. On the contrary, the centrifugal force of upper light particles is large, the light particles move little by little from midst to outer area. The slurry would be thrown to the furthest outer edge. At the meanwhile, some of light particles get into the bottom and some of heavy particles get onto the upper, they need to be separated again. This section need the longest time, and should make several repeated circulation to finish separation. 

Get into the 3th section, the movement reach to a balance, the particles of different density move by each turning radius, light and heavy particles align to grid from outer edge to inner edge, so that finally get the different particles from the mineral conditioner at the chute end and output 3 parts of concentrate, middling, tailings from each outlet, finally complete separation.
