Introduction

Hunan Vanguard Group Co., Ltd - its predecessor was Hubei Hanyang Arms Plant found by the governor of Hunan and Guangzhou Mr. Zhang Zhidong in 1890. The total assets of the company is over 1.4 billion, with more than 3000 workers, thereinto 420 technicians are engineers or above titles, and 12 workers enjoy the state council special allowance.

In 2002, the company was re-formatted as Hunan Vanguard Group Co., Ltd., under China South Industries Group Corporation. In 2003, we build the Hydropower Equipment Company, and established the national level research and technology center, do hydropower equipment technology research joining Tsinghua University, Nanjing Hehai University and China IWHR, awarded the “High Tech Enterprise” by Hunan province. We have the ability to manufacture maximum 200MW capacity per unit and 1000MW capacity per year.

The Kaplan turbine is a propeller-type water turbine which has adjustable blades. Kaplan turbines are now widely used throughout the world in high-flow, low-head power production.

Kaplan turbines are widely used throughout the world for electrical power production. They cover the lowest head hydro sites and are especially suited for high flow conditions.

Inexpensive micro turbines on the Kaplan turbine model are manufactured for individual power production with as little as two feet of head.

Large Kaplan turbines are individually designed for each site to operate at the highest possible efficiency, typically over 90%. They are very expensive to design, manufacture and install, but operate for decades.
