CEMENT ROTARY KILN INTRODUCTION

Cement rotary kiln can be sorted by two types, dry process cement production kiln and wet process cement production kiln. Cement kiln means rotary calcining kiln (usually be called rotary kiln), it‘s a kind of construction equipments. Accroding to the different calcining materials, there can be cement kiln, metallurgy chemical kiln and limestone kiln three types; According to different production purposes, there are ceramsite kiln, metallurgy kiln, chemical kiln, lime kiln, active lime kiln and so on. 

Cement rotary kiln is to calcine superfine kaolin with midium temperature ((950℃~1050℃), as an advanced technology in domestic, it represents the develop direction of calcining superfine kaolin. This technology has many advantages, low-energy consumption; high capacity; through dehydration and deburization, the product can be whitened; steady performance and so on. So it can be used in papermaking and painting industries.

Cement rotary kiln is mainly used in metallurgy industry, steel and iron industry for poor iron ore magnetizing roasting; Chromium, Josephinite oxidizing roasting;  High metallurgy ore roasting in refractories plant; Clinker, aluminium hydroxide roasting in aluminium manufacturing; Chrome ores, chrome powders and such ores roasting in chemical plant.

Rotary kiln mainly used for cement clinker roasting, there are dry method production cement kiln and wet method production cement kiln two types.

Cement rotary kiln used for roasting active lime and light roasting dolomite in steel and iron plants and iron alloy manufacturing. 

 CEMENT ROTARY KILN OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The rotary kiln is a cylindrical vessel, inclined slightly to the horizontal, which is rotated slowly about its axis. The material to be processed is fed into the upper end of the cylinder. As the kiln rotates, material gradually moves down towards the lower end, and may undergo a certain amount of stirring and mixing. Hot gases pass along the kiln, sometimes in the same direction as the process material (co-current), but usually in the opposite direction (counter-current). The hot gases may be generated in an external furnace, or may be generated by a flame inside the kiln. Such a flame is projected from a burner-pipe (or "firing pipe") which acts like a large burner. The fuel we use for this is gas, or pulverized coal.
