Foil has very good resistance against water vapour, oxygen and light.

So if your product is getting spoilt fast when in contact with moisture or oxygen than we have to use aluminum foil in bags. But there is only one problem in aluminum foil that it gets punctured very fast. Foil bags is very much puncture resistance so if you fold foil bag 5 to 7 times from the same location than foil bag gets punctured and then the barrier is totally lost.

Aluminum foil pouches has very good aroma protection barrier. So if your product requires aroma protection like spices or any product which requires smell barrier than foil bags are ideal for this type of packaging. Foil bags can replace foil containers, foil boxes as this type of products transportation is very expensive and cost of foil container or foil box is very high compared with foil bags. Foil bags is environmental friendly as it uses 7 times less space than foil containers so less use of fuel in transportation.

Foil pouches cannot be used if the product is more acidic as acid eats up the foil. So you cannot pack product which has very high content of acetic acid or vinegar.
