Simple Introduction of  Line for Production of Expanded Clay :

Lightweight expanded clay aggregate, which is short for LECA production line is mainly used in oil field and the finished product, building materials , gardening , refractory insulation materials, chemical and so on. Ceramic sand is adopted as oil proppant. 

LECA consists of small, lightweight, bloated particles of burnt clay. The thousands of small, air-filled cavities give LECA its strength and thermal insulation properties. The base material is plastic clay which is extensively pretreated and then heated and expanded in a rotary kiln. Finally, the product is burned at about 1100°C to form the finished LECA product.

Main Equipment of Line for Production of Expanded Clay The main equipments in Ceramsite Sand Production Line includes hopper, dust-extraction, rotary kiln, Coal injection system, control cabinet, etc. The speed of the feeder under hoper, kiln body and the quantity of coal arching are all of stepless speed regulation.

 Auxiliary equipments for shale ceramsite include crusher, screen, belt conveyor, feeder, etc.

 Auxiliary equipments for clay and coal ash include double roll mixer, pelletizer, screen, feed, belt conveyor, etc.

Production process of Line for Production of Expanded Clay :

Produce ceramsite generally using the production process of raw material homogenization,granulation, baking, cooling.

According to the type and characteristics of raw materials, Its granulating process can be divided into the following kinds:

1. Plastic method technology: Suitable for clay and clayey material.

Its process: clay - plasticizing - granulating - roasting - cooling - finished products. 

2. Mud into the ball process: Suitable for fly ash or other powder raw materials.Its process: fly ash - mixed smoothing - granulating - roasting - cooling - finished products. 

3. Powder grinding ball process: Suitable for shale, clay shale and gangue materials.  Its process: shale - drying - grinding - pre-wetting-  granulating - roasting - cooling - finished product. 

4. Broken (dry) process: Suitable for shale,etc.Its process: raw materials and broken graded - roasting shale and finished product. And cooling.

5. Fuel: according to local fuel supply, using bituminous coal, crude oil or natural gas.
