An Uncoiler also call decoiler can be used for unwinding the coil for the next procedure in a slitting line or cut-to-length line.

The single mandrel type uncoiler is composed of a drum, steel frame, drive, hold down device and base.

The drum consists of a supporting axle, a wedge-shaped sliding, four pieces of arc-shaped plates set on the slide and a rotating hydraulic cylinder in size of 150mm. The rotating hydraulic cylinder is fixed on the end of the supporting axle, rotating synchronously with the drum. The arc-shaped plates move down or up along the wedge slide to make the drum shrink or expand when pulled or pushed by the cylinder’s pull rod connected with the principal and supporting axles.

The four plates of the drum are as thick as 30mm in length of 650mm. The hollow principal axle is made of 40Cr steel, with processes such as forging, drilling by deep hole drill, hardening and tempering.

The drive system rotates the drum. The system comprises a BWD3 cycloid pin gear reducer with a AC5.5KW variable frequency motor that regulates speed by a frequency converter, a drive sprocket, a chain, a air actuated clutch, and a pneumatic disc brake.

Hold down arm & Press & drive device: It’s used to press the strip nose onto the coil to prevent the coil from becoming loose at the beginning of uncoiling and it then rotates the press roller to send the strip head onto the receiving plate. It includes a hold down arm frame, a press roller, a hydraulic motor and a oil cylinder. The frame is welded with steel plates, qualitatively processed. The press roller is welded into with seamless steel tube, qualitatively processed and covered with rubber. The lifting and descending is driven by the oil cylinder.
