The table clamp is metal and strong, the spring is firm, it has a rubber pad so it doesn't mark surfaces. The flexible portion is firm as well and maintains its shape well. If you are clamping to a surface thinner than 3/4" or so you wont get the best hold, but you can play with the configuration of the arm to get it to balance. The arm does hold my Galaxy Note II while fully extended, its plenty sturdy enough. The phone clamp pivots all around nicely and holds its position, it's also nicely padded with rubber. The finish on all the parts are good, no plastic burrs, surfaces are smooth, the product looks great.
