Cam lever handles allow for quick fastening and unfastening without the use of tools.They thread in like a regular fastener but for the final clamp action the cam handle is simply pushed downward . They are constructed of cast aluminum and the washer is fiberglass reinforced plastic.

They allow the user to tighten by threading like a traditional fastener however, for final tightening the cam lever is pushed downward.
